Dutch Government: "There is no proven effectiveness of masks"

"Sweden isn't completely alone: the Dutch government on Wednesday (Thursday AEST) said masks wouldn't be mandatory, as mask use could breed complacency over social distancing, and if they weren't worn correctly they could increase transmission risks.
"Because from a medical perspective there is no proven effectiveness of masks, the cabinet has decided that there will be no national obligation for wearing non-medical masks," said Medical Care Minister Tamara van Ark."
